Michele Wyckoff Smith
Michele Wyckoff-Smith's journey as a jeweller began in painting and printmaking. Combining a love of the handmade object and symbolic language, Michele trained as a jeweller. Her work is known for its simple organic shapes, fluidity and bold graphic motifs.
With her love of the handmade object, Michele feels it is important to see the artist's hand in each of her pieces. Not afraid to combine metals and contrasting textures, she celebrates the "perfection of imperfection" in her work.
Most recently Michele has explored the spaces found within the work of British Modern sculptors Henry Moore and Barbara Hepworth. A series of bracelets examines the world that evolves between roundness and the organic oval. This exploration celebrates the fullness of the feminine form.
While Michele's work revels in simplicity and elegance, the subtlety of the craftsmanship makes her work extremely wearable and collectable.
